San Francisco-based Kuth Ranieri Architects was established in 1990 by Byron Kuth, FAIA and Elizabeth Ranieri, FAIA and today, consists of 15
architects and multi-disciplinary designers. The firm has earned a regional and national reputation for innovative works of architecture that integrate environmental awareness with contemporary issues of design and technology.
Byron and Elizabeth are among an emerging group of designers at the forefront of green building and thought leadership in climate adaptation. The firm designed Folding Water, the winning entry for the Rising Tides: International Ideas Competition for Rising Sea Levels sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC).
Elizabeth and Byron co-founded DGDA, the Deep Green Design Alliance (www.dgda.com), a multidisciplinary collaborative focused on elevating design to solve local environmental challenges that shape our global future. Byron and Elizabeth embody the rare dichotomy of visionary thinking with the technical skills to design and manage complex public sector
projects for process-driven clients such as the City of San Francisco and SFO. The firm’s work has been consistently recognized by the American
Institute of Architects, I.D. Magazine; published by, Domus, Architect’s Newspaper, Architizer, I.D. Magazine and Architectural Record; and displayed
in academic and museum galleries throughout the country. Their monograph, Kuth Ranieri Architects, was published by Princeton Architectural Press.
